MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A new restaurant will join Myrtle Beach’s award winning list of eateries along the Boardwalk.

In a release from the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Media Communication Manager Brad Dickerson says The Chemist, located at 9th Avenue North, is scheduled to open on September 15.

The restaurant’s design and food prep will be based on the diner’s name. Additionally, 16 craft beers will be on tap.

The Chemist is a unique addition to Myrtle Beach’s culinary scene, and expands the Grand Strand’s food offerings that already include fresh seafood, Lowcountry cuisine, North Carolina-style Calabash and traditional Italian and American fare.

“More and more travelers are seeking out a vacation destination based on the culinary options that are available to them,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “The Myrtle Beach area is steeped in tradition when it comes to food preparation. These traditions have been passed down throughout the generations, thereby allowing local chefs to offer a variety of delicious entrees that are sure to please any palate.”

The Myrtle Beach area’s rich food heritage weaves in such staples as the Gullah Geechee cultural influence, Carolina gold rice and fresh produce from local farms.
