Obama declares state of emergency in South Carolina over flooding

COLUMBIA, S.C (WBTW)- President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in South Carolina on Saturday.

Reuters reports the decision came after severe storms caused widespread flooding, the White House said in a statement.

Obama ordered federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts, and he authorized federal agencies to coordinate disaster relief efforts, the statement said.
