FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) – Florence School District One got a large donation on Thursday.
Verizon donated 10-thousand dollars for Delmae Heights Elementary School to join a pilot program called Project Lead The Way. It is part of a comprehensive approach to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics – called STEAM.
“STEAM for our students is fun but it is also an opportunity for them to problem solve and children by nature want to collaborate with one another so that’s always a gift for us when we can provide opportunities to allow them to do that,” said Ginger Baggette, the Curriculum Coordinator for the school.
Three other schools in Florence School District One are already part of Project Lead The Way.
