Bond denied for Conway home invasion suspects

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police arrested two people Thursday night in connection with a home invasion in Conway. The duo appeared in court Friday afternoon for a scheduled bond hearing.

Latasha Lynne Shelley, 34, and Joshua Cain Windham, 24, both of Conway, are each charged with first degree burglary, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and armed robbery.

Shelley and Windham were both denied bond Friday afternoon during their first court appearance after allegedly holding two elderly woman at gunpoint and stealing anything of value from their home.

Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County Police says officers responded to a home invasion around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Highway 19, in Conway.

The elderly victims, a 72-year-old woman and her 90-year-old mother, reported that a man and a woman came into their beauty salon, located near their residence, with shotguns and forced them to go into their home.

The two women told officers the suspects tied them up and locked them in a bathroom.

The suspects were denied bond and are being held in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. The next court date for Shelley and Windham is November 20.
