MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – An ordinance to amend The Market Common Master Plan, converting 198 townhomes and condo units to 122 apartments, passed its first reading Tuesday.

According to City of Myrtle Beach spokesperson Mark Kruea, the change is to take place in the R-7/C-4 Section, namely Farrow Parkway, Howard Avenue, and Iris Street, converting the nearly 200 townhomes into 122 apartments in two buildings with security gates, surface parking, and amenities.

The ordinance must pass a second reading before being put into motion.
