FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – An Effingham man was arrested early Thursday morning after what police called a “lengthy undercover narcotics investigation” in response to neighbors in the community complaining about drug activity.
Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office confirms the arrest of Antronn Denyell Barr, 37, on charges of possession of narcotics and trafficking of heroin. Specially trained Florence County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators explain that Barr sold heroin to a confidential informant on October 19.
After the drug deal was made, an arrest warrant was issued for Barr and a search warrant was issued for his residence, reports Major Nunn. Both warrants were executed early Thursday. Investigators found approximately 130 bags of heroin, items used to cut and package heroin for sale and a large amount of cash, Major Nunn adds.
“Citizen involvement is critical when it comes to narcotics investigations,” Sheriff Kenney Boone stated. “We urge the public to get involved in helping us get drug dealers off the street.”
Barr is being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
