CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW)- On Thursday October 29th, 2015, the Conway Police Department hosted the 15th Circuit Law Enforcement Network’s traffic safety checkpoint in the City of Conway on 4th Avenue near McQueen Street.
The following citations and charges were made during this checkpoint:
- Driver’s License Violations: 7
- Vehicle License Violations: 6
- Driving Under Suspension: 5
- Driving Under the Influence: 1
- Illegal Alcohol Cases: 1 (Open Container)
- No Proof Of Insurance: 9
- Failure to Stop for Blue Lights: 1 (HCPD)
- Illegal Drug Cases: 4
- (1) simple possession of Marijuana
- (1) 4 gram s of Marijuana
- (1) PWID Marijuana, seized 2.5 lbs
- (1) Scheduled 4 narcotics, (7 pills)
During the checkpoint police issued a total of 29 citations and arrested 8 people.
The Law Enforcement Network’s traffic safety checkpoint is supported by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety and their goal is to prevent motor vehicle accidents from occurring by spotting violations and drivers under the influence during the checkpoints. The 15th Circuit LEN includes all law enforcement agencies in Horry and Georgetown Counties, plus the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, SC Highway Patrol and State Constables.
