HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Police are searching for several suspects after a shooting was reported at an apartment complex in Conway on Thursday.
According to Lt. Raul Denis, a group of black males went to an apartment complex on Commonwealth Circle around 10:20 p.m. Thursday night. The victims, two males, 16 and 21-years-old, told police that the group of suspects attempted to take one of the victims from the apartment at gunpoint. The victims were able to hide in the back of the apartment until the group of attackers left.
The two victims then walked outside the apartment into the parking lot where the attackers were still gathered, according to police. The victim explained to police that he did take a gun with him, and after he was shot at by the group of men, he attempted to return fire, but the gun jammed, the police report states. No one was injured in the shooting.
Police document that the two males believe they were attacked by the group because the suspects think the victims have been “snitching on them for selling drugs in the complex.” One of the victims was able to identify the suspects as high school students, although police did not release which high school the suspects reportedly attend.
Horry County Police asks anyone who may have information related to the shooting to contact the tip line at 843-915-8477.
