GAFFNEY, SC (WSPA) – A volunteer worker at Black Horse Antiques in Gaffney, SC has died after falling down an elevator shaft, according to the Cherokee County Coroner.
The Black Horse Antiques business is a three story building, but the Gaffney Fire Chief confirms the volunteer worker fell from the first floor into the basement, which was about a 20 foot drop.
Investigators are now looking at the functionality of the elevator to determine exactly how this deadly accident occurred.
The victim’s name has not been released.
