GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Georgetown County officials confirm the body found in a wooded area off the side of Pennyroyal Road Wednesday afternoon is that of a missing 25-year-old Georgetown man.

Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway confirms a body was found by two people traveling through the area near a wooded spot close to Mauresina Road off of Pennyroyal Road, south of Georgetown, around 4 p.m. Wednesday. Preliminary autopsy results show that the body is that of an 18 to 30-year-old black male and the cause of death is pending, Chase adds.
