MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Marion man is behind bars for attempted murder after a night club shooting in Myrtle Beach last month, according to Myrtle Beach Police.

A Myrtle Beach Police report details how officers arrived at 3rd Avenue Sports Bar, located at 1102 3rd Avenue South, October 31 at 3:30 a.m. after hearing a single gunshot coming from the area of the bar. A crowd of 50 to 60 people were running from the parking lot of the nightclub and multiple cars were fleeing the area at a high rate of speed, officers report.

The responding officer notes that a security guard for the sports bar told police that two black men started to fight inside the bar. The fight went into the parking lot, where a shot was fired, and, according to the security guard, it appeared one of the men was struck by the bullet.

Police note that the suspected shooter left the parking lot in a white truck and the victim left the scene in a black Chevy Impala.

Myrtle Beach Police arrested 27-year-old Dale Kent Turner, of Marion, Tuesday on one count of attempted murder and one count of illegal possession of a weapon.

According to online booking records from J. Reuben Long Detention Center, Turner had just been released from jail three days prior to the October 31 shooting.  Turner was jailed October 15 on one count of assault and battery third degree and one count of domestic violence second degree. He was released from prison October 28 at 7:01 a.m.

Prior to the October 15 arrest, Turner was jailed August 17 on an assault and battery third degree charge. He was released the following day on $500 bond.
