GRIFTON, NC (WNCT) – A Grifton business owner and employee sold marijuana and drug-laced candies, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested the two on Tuesday after searching Enams African Art’s & Crafts store on S. Gordon Street. It is a few blocks away from a childcare center.

Owner Robert Collins Jones, 77 of Grifton, and Melissa Gore Mack, 46 of Farmville, were arrested.
Deputies say the candy sold had high levels of THC. They say detectives also discovered counterfeit merchandise being sold as brand name clothing and accessories.
Detectives estimate they recovered an estimated $42,000 worth of counterfeit items and drugs.
Both suspects are booked at the Pitt County Detention Center.

Robert Jones:

- F) 1 count Selling Controlled Substances within 1000ft of Daycare
- F) 1 count Conspiracy
Mack is currently being held at the Pitt County Detentions Center under $500,000.00 secured bond.
Jones is currently being held at the Pitt County Detentions Center under $75,000.00 secured bond.
