HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – A Conway woman is behind bars Wednesday after the driver of the vehicle she was in led police on a 30 minute chase, according to Horry County Police.

At about 12 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a home on Willard Road in Conway for a wanted person. Officers arrived as the fugitive, Dakota Nicole Deal, 24, left in a black sport utility vehicle, confirms Lt. Raul Denis. Officers quickly caught up with the SUV, but the driver refused to pull over and led officers on a chase lasting over 30 minutes.

Officers were able to use tire-deflation devices to flatten the car’s tires, which eventually brought the chase to an end. Deal was wanted for forgery, police say. She has been booked at the Horry County Detention Center.

The driver, a 25-year-old male, from Conway, is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center where he will be charged with failure to stop for blue lights and siren and other traffic related charges, says Lt. Denis. Police say the man’s identity will be announced once charges are filed.
