A driver hit and killed a pedestrian in Florence County.
South Carolina Highway Patrol LCpl. Hannah Wimberly said it happened at 7:55pm Thursday on US 76 near Williamson Road.
Wimberly said a pedestrian walking in the eastbound lanes of 76 was struck and killed by the driver of a GMC Envoy, also headed east on the highway.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken says the name of the person killed is not released, pending notification of family.
The SUV driver was not injured.
An investigation into the crash continues.
