Have You Heard, something distinctively Coca-Cola happened 100 years ago today (11/16).
On that day, Coca-Cola patented its contour bottle style.
That came after the Coke board agreed to spend $500 ($11,700 in current money) to develop a unique look for the brand.
All Cokes were sold in glass bottles in 1915.
That’s changed, and even while glass bottle sales of Coke have risen in the recent years, they still account for less than one percent of sales in the U.S.

Clark Gable died 55 years ago today. He was only 59.

Former NASCAR driver Terry Labonte is 59 today.
Labonte won two Sprint Cup Championships. The 12-year drought between his two titles (1984 and 1996) is a record.
The first of his 22 Sprint Cup race wins came in the 1980 Southern 500 at Darlington.

Canadian singer/pianist Diana Krall is 51 today.

Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship both had some big hits.
However, when the band (with personnel changes) became known as simply “Starship,” it went straight to the top of the singles charts.
Starship had three number-one hits, the first of which was “We Built This City” and which hit number-one 30 years ago today (11/16/1985).

Today is “Fast Food Day”!

An earthquake in Missouri 204 years ago today (11/16/1811) actually caused the Mississippi River to flow backwards!
