Two men have been arrested following a string of armed robberies at CVS stores in Asheville.
Asheville police say 51-year-old Christopher Lee Michelson and 26-year-old Corey Jawil Mapp dressed as women in order to disguise themselves during the robberies.
The robberies took place at the CVS on Merrimon Avenue on December 19, 2014 and January 7, 2015, the Fairview Road CVS on January 26, 2015, and an attempted robbery at the CVS on Smokey Park Highway on July 10, 2015.
Mapp is charged with two counts of Conspiring to Traffic Opium/Heroin, three counts of Trafficking Opium/Heroin, two counts of Conspiring to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, one count of Conspiring to Commit Common Law Robbery, and one count of Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Michelson is charged with three counts of Possession of Handgun by a Felon, one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon, one count of Aiding and Abetting Robbery, one count of Aiding and Abetting Armed Robbery, one count of Conspiring to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, one count of Conspiring to Traffic Opium/Heroin, three counts of Trafficking Opium/Heroin, one count of Common Law Robbery, and one count of Conspiring to Commit Common Law Robbery.
Mapp is being held at the Henderson County Detention Center for charges related to a CVS robbery in Hendersonville. Michelson is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Center.
