INDIANAPOLIS – Facebook wants to help you get over your ex, because breaking up is hard to do.
The social media site said in a new release that it’s testing new tools that will allow users to “digitally distance” themselves from a former flame – after a break up. It will allow users options on how they chose to interact with their ex.
The new platform rolled out on Thursday for mobile devices.
The “Take a Break” option pops up when you make the split official on the social network, according to the release.
It gives you the option to limit what you see about your ex and what they can see about you. Users can see less of their ex without having to unfriend or block them. Facebook says the ex won’t show up in your news feed and they won’t be suggested when you type a message or tag friends in posts.
The best part is he or she won’t be notified of your changes.
Facebook says they want to help people end relationships on their site with greater ease, comfort and sense of control.
