MURRELLS INLET, SC (WBTW) – Folks on the south end of the Strand are in the holiday spirit and had a big welcome Saturday for Santa to prove it.
Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre dancers, escorted Santa into the Inlet Square Mall to kick off the first Children’s Christmas Village Fair.
Children sang along with carols, the ballet performed, and vendors set up shop. The kick off drew in large crowds that organizers hope will lead to a holiday boost.
“We’ve worked hard to get this many people here, its exciting. We said this is going to be good. We don’t want this mall to just go away and fade out. We want the Inlet Square Mall to be here for the people of Murrells Inlet,” said Liza Mata, artistic director for the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre.
The Children’s Christmas Village Fair will be open every Saturday until Christmas.
