HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Monday, the Horry County Board of Education announced they were buying the final plot of land for its $240 million school building plan.
The board announced they would purchase 23.6 acres of land off of Highway 17 near the Sayebrook Town Center. The purchase will cost $1,930,900.
This plot of land will be for the Socastee area school. It was the last plot of landed need, after issues arose with water drainage from the original area being considered for the Socastee area school.
The board also announced they would spend more than a million dollars on modulars for the Myrtle Beach Family Learning Center.
