LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) – The Lexington County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested an 18-year-old on charges that he stole Christmas gifts from people’s doorsteps shortly after they were delivered.
Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in a news release Saturday that Ryan Andrew Huff of West Columbia was charged with larceny in the thefts from a dozen homes on Dec. 18.
The news release said Huff was a part-time seasonal employee of UPS.
Deputies spent Saturday delivering stolen packages back to the homes. The sheriff said most were Christmas gifts.
A phone listing for Huff was disconnected when a reporter tried to reach him for comment. A phone message left with the Sheriff’s Office asking if Huff had a lawyer wasn’t immediately returned.
