FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) — Florence Police arrested a man for robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint.
Officers say it happened last Friday. According to police, 44-year-old George White called a taxi that he had used the day before, claiming he’d left something in the cab. The taxi driver drove back to White’s location, and when he got into the back, police say he pulled a gun and robbed the driver.
Police also say the driver was hurt, though not seriously.
White was already in jail in Effingham because of a shoplifting charge, and he is now charged with armed robbery.
