CONWAY (WBTW) — Horry County Police arrested a Columbus County man they say robbed a man near Loris Sunday night.
Police say it happened in a car while two people were waiting for someone who was inside a home on Edwards Road. The victim told police the man in the backseat–whom he said he’d never met before–pulled out a gun and demanded his wallet and an iPhone.
When he refused, the victim said the man with the gun hit him in the side of the head with the gun. He gave over the wallet that had cash and credit cards, along with the phone.
Later that night, police arrested 20-year-old Don Maness III of Nakina, and he is charged with assault and battery, armed robbery, and gun charges.
He is still in jail at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
