HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation plans to build a new bridge on Enterprise Road in Horry County starting next week.
According to an SCDOT release, the bridge will span the new SC-31 extension from Hwy 544 to Hwy 707 near Socastee.
The new bridge will be constructed by Flatiron Constructors, Inc., states the SCDOT release. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin September 14 and barring any unforeseen delays, the bridge should be reopened to traffic by June 9, 2016.
In order to minimize the time construction will take place, as well as cost and impact to local property owners, Enterprise Road will be closed from Hunter’s Horn Lane to Butler Road. Traffic will be rerouted along Hwy 707 and Bay Road. The detour is approximately 8.2 miles.
