MONETA (WSLS 10) – Folks from across Southwest Virginia are expected to attend a remembrance event this Saturday, September 19 to honor the lives of Alison Parker and Adam Ward and to encourage the continued healing of Vicki Gardner.
Shuttles from LakeWatch Plantation to Bridgewater Plaza will begin at 9:00 a.m. Organizers said the event will be from noon until 10:00 p.m.
The event will begin with a dedication of a permanent memorial in honor of Parker and Ward.
Following the ceremony, hundreds of people and boaters will form a large circle by holding hands. During that moment, a helicopter will fly overhead and release rose petals. A photographer will ride in the helicopter and capture the moment meant to signal unity.
