MARION, SC (WBTW) – Helen White celebrated her 109th birthday Sunday afternoon.
White is a South Carolina native. She lives in Marion County and graduated from college in 1928. Her husband died in 1984 and she has since lived in her home for more than 30 years. White is a mother of two kids and one grandchild. White says she likes to keep up with current events, going to church and dancing.
“One day after another just continues and I don’t think there is a whole lot of difference in the way I felt yesterday than I do today so I’m just glad to be here,” White said.
Senator Kent Williams honored White with a plaque from the South Carolina State of Representatives.
