MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A former employee of a Myrtle Beach restaurant ate dinner at his previous workplace and left without paying the dinner tab, according to police.
A Myrtle Beach Police report dictates that 19-year-old Hunter Bruce Kroencke went to Tupelo Honey Cafe, located at 3042 Howard Ave., Thursday night and racked up a dinner tab of $64.37. When Kroencke left the restaurant without paying, the manager waiting about 20 minutes before calling police to give Kroencke the chance to return to settle the bill, according to the report.
The restaurant manager called police and was able to give officers the complete name of the offender, as Kroencke had previously worked in the Market Common eatery.
Kroencke is charged with defrauding a restaurant and is being held at the Myrtle Beach jail.
