6 arrested after multiple shootings reported in Darlington County

HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple shootings in Hartsville Tuesday, leading to the arrests of six suspects.

Sheriff Wayne Byrd says no one was shot or injured during the reported shootings, however several houses were either shot or suspects forced their way into the homes. During the course of the investigation, warrants were obtained on several individuals.

On Wednesday and Thursday the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, Hartsville City Police Department, South Carolina Probation Pardon and Parole and SLED completed an operation in Hartsville.

A search warrant was executed on Thursday at a home on Spring Valley Road in Hartsville. During the raid, several of the individuals involved in the shooting incidents were located, in addition to several other wanted for outstanding warrants. Marijuana and a gun were seized as a result of the execution of the search warrant, Sheriff Byrd adds.

The following arrests were made following the investigation:

Quateze Deshawn Guy, 21, of Hartsville, was charged with three counts attempted murder, one count of pointing and presenting a firearm, one count burglary first degree, two counts possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, one count shooting into a dwelling and two counts of criminal conspiracy. Guy is on probation through SCPPP. He is also out on a bond for unlawful carrying of a handgun from an incident in January.

Darius Tyquan Reed, 21, of Hartsville, was charged with three counts attempted murder, one count of pointing and presenting a firearm, one count burglary first degree, two counts possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, one count shooting into a dwelling and two counts of criminal conspiracy. Reed is currently on probation through SCPPP.

Daris Akeem Robinson, 21, of Hartsville, was charged with three counts attempted murder, one count of pointing and presenting a firearm, one count burglary first degree, two counts possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, one count shooting into a dwelling and two counts of criminal conspiracy.

Timothy Juawan Mungo, 21, of Hartsville, was charged with three counts attempted murder, one count of pointing and presenting a firearm, one count burglary first degree, two counts possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, one count shooting into a dwelling and two counts of criminal conspiracy. Mungo is currently on probation/supervised release program under the Youthful Offender Act with the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Kenneth Marquis Dubose, 25, of Hartsville, was charged with distribution of crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine within proximity of a school.

Leonardo Denez Jones, 30, of Hartsville, was charged with three counts distribution of crack cocaine and simple possession of marijuana.

This is still an ongoing investigation and additional charges could be forthcoming, according to Sheriff Byrd.
