FLORENCE, SC – Country music greats Travis Tritt and Charlie Daniels are coming to the Francis Marion University Performing Arts for a pair of terrific spring concerts available for one great price.
Tritt will take the stage on May 12, while The Charlie Daniels Band (CDB) will perform on June 2. The performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Because the twin concerts will both appeal to so many country music and southern rock fans, the PAC is offering a special “Two-Step Two-For” ticket that allows fans to attend both concerts for just $99 (Tier One seats not included, see below for details). Individual tickets are also available. Tickets are on sale now.
Tritt and CDB are both Grammy Award winners with dozens of chart-busting songs and albums to their credit. The two southern-born performers have won numerous Country Music Association Awards and are members of the Grand Ole Opry. CDB will be making its first appearance at the PAC. Tritt is back after rocking the house two years ago. He did that as a one-man acoustical show. This time he’s bringing his whole band with him.
Tritt will perform songs from his latest album ‘The Calm After…’ as well as hits from a long and storied career that have delighted almost a generation of fans.
Tritt’s debut album was released in 1990, and was an immediate success. He released an album a year for the next three years and those albums produced some of his greatest hits including, “Help Me Hold On”, “Anymore“, “Can I Trust You with My Heart” and “Foolish Pride”. Other well-known chart toppers by Tritt include his number one hit “Best of Intentions” in 2000, “Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)”, “I’m Going to be Somebody” and “Lord Have Mercy on the Working Man”.
The CDB was started in 1972 by its namesake Charlie Daniels, a native of Leland, NC, a small town near Wilmington. The band’s bluegrass, boogie, gospel and blues, mixed with a swig of country, always brings attendees to their feet. Daniels and company have produced a string of hits, none bigger or more iconic than the group’s trademark, crossover work, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”. “Devil” was released in 1979. It still receives extensive play today.
Other chart-topping tunes by the band include its first hit “Uneasy Rider”, “In America”, “Still in Saigon”, “(What the World Needs Is) A Few More Rednecks” and “Simple Man”. Daniels, like Tritt, has appeared in numerous movies, TV shows and commercials. He’s a member of the North Carolina Hall of Fame.
