FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – The Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men following a police chase Tuesday that ended in Timmonsville.
Florence County Narcotics Investigators and members of Florence County PACE Team attempted to make a traffic stop Tuesday on Cale Yarborough Highway on a 2010 Dodge Charger driven by Vinson Montray Ervin, 25, of Lamar. According to investigators, Ervin failed to stop for officers and led investigators on a pursuit which ended near Pinehurst Road near Timmonsville.
During the pursuit, deputies say narcotics were being thrown from the passenger side of the vehicle. Once the vehicle came to a stop, both Vinson Montray Ervin and Christopher Valerous Ervin, 29, of Lamar, a passenger in the car, attempted to run from officers but were apprehended shortly thereafter.
According to investigators, the suspected narcotics allegedly thrown from the vehicle were recovered. In addition, investigators state both suspects had marijuana on them when apprehended.

Christopher Velerous Ervin is charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana. Vinson Montray Ervin is charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Light, Driving Under Suspension, Possession With Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Distribution of Crack Cocaine.
Vinson Montray Ervin was released from the Florence County Detention Center Thursday. Christopher Velerous Ervin is being held at the Florence County Detention Center on a surety bond.
