COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Six people have been named to a panel that will come up with a proposal to display the Confederate flag at a South Carolina museum.
The State newspaper reported (http://bit.ly/1Qqk7QP) that three more members are still to be named to the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum Commission.
State lawmakers voted in July to remove the flag from a monument in front of the Statehouse after the shooting of nine people at a historic black church in Charleston. The suspect in that shooting was seen posing with the flag.
The law that removed the flag also called for a plan to display it at the museum.
The museum must present a budget for the display by January 1. The museum could get additional money for the display.
