2 arrested, 1 sought in Racepath community drug bust

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County Police officers have arrested two Myrtle Beach men and are searching for a third suspect after being called to the Racepath community early Thursday morning for supposed drug dealing.

According to Lt. Denis, officers were dispatched to Granny’s Lane in the Racepath area of Horry County just after midnight Thursday morning. As Officers arrived, the three suspects were seen standing near vehicles described by the witness who called police. When the accused drug dealers spotted officers arriving in the area, they attempted to run.

Officers quickly caught two of the men,Yen B. Simmons, 39, and Kendrick W. Green, 30, both of Myrtle Beach, and are still looking for the third suspect, Raahkeem O. Young, 25, also of Myrtle Beach.

Police investigated to find that the trio of suspects was in possession of two stolen guns, a stolen car, and distribution quantities of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as marijuana packaged for distribution, states Lt. Denis.

Simmons and Green are each charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of stolen property.

Green had just been released from J. Reuben Long Detention Center September 11 for multiple charges, including attempted murder, for his alleged involvement in a Myrtle Beach bar shooting.

Young is wanted on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of stolen property. Young is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
