GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WBTW) – Thousands of people came out for the 26th annual Wooden Boat Show in Georgetown on Saturday.
Some of the finest antique, classic and new wooden boats were on display.
The event also included a boat building competition, arts, crafts and food from nearly 45 vendors; plus plenty of activities for kids to get in on the fun.
Painter Pat Puckett is this years featured artist, she spent the day selling and signing prints, and greeting fans.
“I’ve just been thrilled meeting everyone, to me, I feel like this has been the biggest crowd at the Wooden Boat Show that I’ve ever seen. And I think everyone was just ready for the sunshine after all the flooding, just to be out and about,” said Puckett.
Puckett’s painting, “Lowcountry Oysterman” was auctioned off for over $7,500 Friday night.
Proceeds from the sale will go to help keep the Maritime Museum afloat, which also relies on the boat show as a major fundraising event.
