SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -The 32nd annual Surfside Beach Family Festival, originally scheduled for October 3rd, was moved to Saturday because of the storm.
Around 10,000 people came out to see live bands, as well as shop and eat at various stands that were set up along Surfside Drive.
130 vendors sold everything from food to Halloween decorations and everything in between.
Organizers say they hold the event each fall because it would be impossible to block of the street during the summer and to get more people into town during the offseason.
Cindy Lopez, was visiting from Indian Land, SC, “actually this was a big surprise and I love events like this as you can see,” she said holding a bag of goodies.
“I have a dog, so I picked up dog treats and I got some honey, local honey, so I did a good thing,” said Lopez.
The one day event wrapped up at 4pm, but organizers hope to extend the hours in the coming years.
