HENDERSONVILLE, NC — The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has charged 28 year-old Heather Ann Bradburn Stepp with one felony count of Involuntary Manslaughter.

The charge is for the accidental shooting death of 2 year-old Abigail Newman on Oct. 26.
The Sheriff’s Office says Abigail was shot with a shotgun.
BlueRidgeNow.com reported that Stepp was keeping Abigail and 3 other children at her home when the shooting happened.
The shooting happened at Golden Eagle Way early last Monday morning in Hendersonville.
The babysitter called 911, BlueRidgeNow.com reported.
“Somebody.. One of the guns.. Was on the table and I didn’t know it.. A little girl was shot,” the 911 caller said.
They say Stepp surrendered to authorities and was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
James Fuller Stepp, 31, turned himself in to Henderson County Sheriff’s Office deputies Monday night on a charge of involuntary manslaughter for the girl’s death.
The shotgun belonged to James Fuller Stepp, the babysitter’s husband, according to BlueRidgeNow
They so no additional charges are being considered at this time.
