MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The City of Myrtle Beach has certified the voting results from Tuesday’s election. The Myrtle Beach Election Commission met at 10 a.m. Thursday morning to canvass the votes from Tuesday’s municipal election and certify the results. Twenty two failsafe ballots were verified, opened and counted, according to city officials.
The commission then certified the results, declaring Mike Chestnut, Mary Jeffcoat and Phil Render as winners of three City Council seats. Oath-of-office ceremonies will be held in January for the new, four-year terms.
Thursday’s certified vote totals are shown below. Approximately 19 percent of the eligible voters cast a ballot in Tuesday’s election.
