SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Sumter County deputies say a missing 6-year-old girl who was last seen walking away from an elementary school Monday afternoon has been located safely.
Public Information Officer Braden Bunch with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says Emily Ginther began walking home from school Monday afternoon when she got lost. A 9-year-old classmate saw Emily and offered to help her find her house. After walking around the Cherryvale area for some time, the two could not find Emily’s home, so the classmate led Emily back to his own house.
From there, the classmate’s family contacted law enforcement, and deputies arrived at the home moments later to reconnect Emily with her family.
