MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A copy of building plans with the Burroughs and Chapin company name at the top, indicates a new Hard Rock Café is coming to Celebrity Circle at Broadway at the Beach.

The real estate development company has been tight lipped about eminent changes to one of Myrtle Beach’s largest attractions, but in documents obtained by News13, you can clearly see the “Hard Rock” logo and big guitar on the cover sheet of the document. The design plans were recently sent to the city.

News13 reported earlier this year that the current location of Hard Rock Café, positioned at the end of Celebrity Square at Broadway, would close. The new design plans are for the building where Broadway Louie’s used to be, just a matter of yards from the iconic pyramid that currently hosts Hard Rock.

When News13 reached out to Hard Rock International on October 21 about a potential change in location for the restaurant, they responded, “Since our opening in 1995, Myrtle Beach has been and continues to be an important market for Hard Rock Cafe. Hard Rock International evaluates development opportunities on a regular basis, including potential relocations. We typically will not comment on deals or locations until finalized.”

Another attempt was made at contacting officials with the company since the building plans were released, but News13 has yet to hear back from Hard Rock offices. It’s important to emphasize, the developer submitted these plans, not Hard Rock.

According to Myrtle Beach City Spokesman Mark Kruea, the proposed project does not have to go to the city’s Community Appearance Board for review because the new location would place Hard Rock on the interior of Broadway at the Beach, and not visible to the passing public.
