ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) – An Orangeburg woman has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing another woman in a dispute over a cellphone.

The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reported that Circuit Judge Maite Murphy sentenced Adrienne Sabrina Randolph after the 30-year-old pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

Prosecutor Harrison Bell said Randolph killed Tonya Marie Lemon after the two women argued over the sale of a cellphone in November of 2013.

Randolph’s attorney Carl B. Grant argued that his client had acted in self-defense.

At the sentencing, Randolph apologized to her family and to Lemon’s.
