MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach police officers say a suspicious call led them to investigate Balsam Street around 9:30 Friday night.
According to a police report, when officers arrived a man involved told police he was sitting on a swing set when he heard a loud popping sound that repeated and he fell to the ground. He told police he thought it was fireworks and afterwards he saw two juveniles run over the bridge in the park towards Cedar Street. Police say one had a hoodie on but the man had no other description.
Officers found 9mm shell casings beside the playground equipment in the park and a black cellphone near the swing set. Officers searched for the weapon but didn’t find anyway.
Police arrested the man they spoke to Brandon Lambert, 27, for public intoxication and took him to the Myrtle Beach Jail for booking.
