SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)- The Surfside Beach Police Department will host a multi-jurisdictional public safety checkpoint operation in Surfside Beach from 8 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Glenn’s Bay Road.
The checkpoint will be staffed with officers from throughout the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. This operation is part of the statewide Law Enforcement Network (LEN) highway safety program.
Officers from almost every law enforcement agency in Horry and Georgetown counties participate in the operations.
SBPD expects approximately 60 officers to participate in Saturday’s operation. Officers will meet prior to the operation to discuss LEN business and brief on the operation.
SBPD Chief of Police Rodney Keziah said “the regularly scheduled checkpoints move around to different parts of the two-county area, and are designed solely for the purpose of improving motorist safety.”
“These operations not only publicize local agencies’ dedication to highway safety,” Keziah added.
