WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)- FEMA representatives attended the annual “Pig Pickin Festival” in Kingstree to help residents.

FEMA Representatives had a booth setup assisting citizens to register for FEMA assistance.

“We go ahead and listen to their story kinda of comfort them a little bit then we turn around and go ahead and go through the registration process and usually that takes a big load off of them,” FEMA team leader Eddie Howard said.

This year’s lineup included a BBQ cook-off, tennis and golf tournaments, car show, arts & crafts, food vendors, lancing tournament, amusement rides, children’s activities, fireworks show and live musical performances.

D and R Cookers were the BBQ Winners and were first time winners in the BBQ division.

“Palmetto synthetics where I work sponsored three teams, two of us came in the top five, so you know we’re tickled to be here and we think it’s good for the area to have this every year it draws a big crowd,” Wayne Douglas said.

The grand prize for the event is $2,000.
