GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – Georgetown County officials are on the scene of a body found off the side of Pennyroyal Road Wednesday afternoon.
Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway confirms a body was found in a wooded area near Mauresina Road off of Pennyroyal Road, south of Georgetown, around 4 p.m. Wednesday. Chase could not verify if the body was that of a male or female, nor could he say if the scene was suspicious in nature.
Georgetown Sheriff Cribb states an autopsy is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday at MUSC. As investigators release details concerning this situation, News13 will post that information to WBTW.com.
